Inger: Name day

Inger's name day is observed on February 26 in both Denmark and Norway. Estonia celebrates Inger's name day on October 5, while Sweden marks it on October 9.

The name Inger is most prevalent in Scandinavian countries like Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, having a more limited presence in the USA. It stems from the Old Norse name Ingigerðr, conveying the meaning of 'Ing's protection,' linking it to ancient Germanic deities. Historically, Inger has served as a traditional feminine given name, deeply woven into Northern European cultures for centuries. It evokes a mood of strength, tradition, and grounded elegance, universally recognized as a feminine identity.
